DSD is here!

Happy Digital Scrapbooking Day! With school back in session, I feel like my time is limited and I've seen SO many goodies all over that I want to gather up this weekend!

That being said, here is a little page-kit freebie for you with 4 papers and 10 elements, made with all of my own photography.

Good thing it is supposed to be rainy and gloomy all day, because I plan to stay behind my laptop gathering goodies all day! :)

Enjoy celebrating and scrapping!

October Pixel Scrapper Blog Train- School of Art

It's Pixel Scrapper Blog Train time! This month's theme was "School of Art," so I focused on theatre arts, and everything coordinates with last month's kit. If you are wondering what that stuff is that looks like red washi tape, it is called SPIKE tape and it is used to mark the stage for positioning of props, scenery, and people. I thought it would be neat to use it like washi. And I hope you like the papers with the floor lights- those, the marquee, the floors, and the Broadway sign are all my own photography.

Don't forget to stop by Pixel Scrappers here to grab the rest of the train and leave some love for all the fabulous designers we have there!

There are three parts- the papers, elements, and alphas.

Football & Flowers

There actually is no football on in the house today- DH and the boy went to a toy soldier show and then are going to see "Magnificent Seven" later. Peace and quiet around here! Which means I am getting some time to work on a special surprise for you to celebrate Digital Scrapbooking Day (which, if you didn't hear, was moved up to the first weekend in October, so it is next Saturday!).

It also will happen to collide with the new Pixel Scrapper blog train, so when you check back, there will be not one, but TWO free kits up here.

Enjoy your week!

Football & Flowers

Another Football Sunday in my house, except the Bears are on Monday night this week, so I get to steal the DH away from the TV for some yardwork this afternoon. Have a fantastic week!

Football & Flowers

I've known my husband for over 20 years. When we met, he forewarned me that he would be "busy" all day every Sunday, and many Monday nights, from September through January. So I've always used that time to get errands, grading, lesson planning, and scrapbooking done.

I can't promise that I will always have time (or remember!) to post a flower on Sundays during football season, but I will try!

All flowers are extracted from my own photography. Please, PU only, and send people here to grab instead of sharing the file. It is appreciated! :)

I worked on this flower last week. Just right-click on image and "Save Image." Enjoy!

The September Pixel Scrapper Blog Train

The September Pixel Scrapper Blog Train is rolling! I stumbled across Pixel Scrapper when I was in pursuit of some unique designs, and quickly became a part of this fantastic online community of designers.

Every month, designers collaborate on a theme and color palette, and they have a blog train. This month marks my inaugural submission as a designer.

September's theme is "Keep It Moving." Designers interpreted that theme in a variety of ways. I chose to focus on tap dancing, with a few odds and ends (who couldn't use more flowers!) thrown in. My son tap dances, and I realized a few years ago that there is just not much out there for boys that relate to dance.

Unfortunately, I have had a few issues with Google Drive and am having difficulty resyncing everything. I should have this fixed for October's blog train! Sorry!

Be sure to visit Pixel Scrapper to see and download the other parts to the blog train. Leave some love for all the wonderful designers who contributed!

Welcome to the Promethean Concepts Blog

Welcome to the Promethean Concepts blog!

I'm Laurel. Although this blog is new, I have been designing digitally for 20+ years. I updated the logo a bit, but it is essentially the same one I used when I did freelance graphic design and marketing work in addition to my "day job" as a marketing manager (where I focused on B2B design work, like brochures and catalogs).

I eventually left marketing and went back to school to become a teacher. I found being a teacher allows me to use the creative side of my brain in a whole different way.

Anyhow, I have *always* scrapbooked, even in junior high (I don't think I had a name for it then). You'd think with my design background I would have jumped on the digital scrapbooking train a lot earlier, but boy do I have an entire craft room of supplies I eventually need to use lol! I eventually started scrapping digitally because of sheer necessity- my son performs in musical theatre and I am often sitting in a Starbucks or McDonalds for hours, 5-6 nights a week. Have you ever packed a bunch of stuff to go to a scrap retreat? Imagine bringing all that stuff to a Starbucks and settling in for the night! Bringing a laptop was a much easier route.

I have gotten so many freebies over the past few years, so this is a place where I can pay it forward and share some freebies that I create with you!

Enjoy, and happy scrapping!
